PPI connects source pixels to the physical print size. A 3000 × 2000 pixel image prints at 10 × 6.67 inches at 300 PPI. This is a calculation, not a guarantee of sharpness. Focus, compression, paper and viewing distance also affect the result.
Pixels and print resolution
PPI = pixels ÷ printed inches. For centimetres, printed inches = centimetres ÷ 2.54. Increasing the pixel count does not recover missing detail. The displayed PPI is an estimate, not a quality rating. The PDF uses up to 300 PPI with a 4096-pixel limit on the longest page edge.
Job limits
Jobs are limited to 40 photos, 30 MB and 50 megapixels per image, 50 copies per photo and 80 PDF pages. Poster dimensions can reach 2000 mm per side, but page count and device memory may limit a job earlier. The automatic arrangement is practical rather than guaranteed to use the fewest possible sheets.
Example
| px | PPI | cm |
|---|---|---|
| 3000 × 2000 | 300 | 25.4 × 16.93 |
| 3000 × 2000 | 200 | 38.1 × 25.4 |
